American Image
All Americans no matter what age, ethnicity, or physical appearance has at least one time thought about their appearance, weight, or self image and how people think about them. The more people think about how people think about them the more their obsession with it grows and grows. People undergo dramatic things just to make sure that
People would not think less of them. That obsession messes up their confidence and at some points, makes them isolate themselves from society.
Obsession with image is so big that it can be seen in many things such as Television, magazines, even in plays all over the world. For example there is a play,
“Cyrano de Bergerac”, image is the most important thing in the play. People in the play fall in love with each other based on looks not on personality. Christian falls in love with Roxanne and all he can say is that she is beautiful. Roxanne falls in love with Christian and all she can say is that he is beautiful.
The main character “Cyrano” is empowered by his large nose that the when the girl he loves for who she is, Roxanne, says that the man she loves is handsome Cyrano automatically believes she is not talking about him, and she wasn’t but still that shows how a little thing about an appearance on your body can effect your life. Cyrano had a reason because for those of you who have seen the movie Cyrano he had a reason because he had an extra arm growing on his face.
People undergo plastic surgery just to look good. Some people even become bulimic and that is the worst thing your body should never experience. Don’t try to look like a model or actor/ actress and flaunt the body that God gave you. Maybe he wanted you to be ugly or beautiful. It is all up to god if your ugly than make the best out of it remember Britney Spears made it so you can to.

Family and Values
My families are very complicated. My mother’s side of the family has different values, beliefs and customs than my father’s side of the family. My mom is Mexican and my dad is African American. Their religions and ethnicity have a lot to do with their values. My dad’s side is more lenient and my mom’s side is more strict.
My mom’s family is not that religious but they still go to church and follow the Catholic beliefs. There are only a few members in my family that are deeply religious, for instance my grandmother is very religious. My grandmother has shrine of the Virgin Mary, a crucifix a huge picture of Jesus and many candles with pictures of saints on each of them. Like most Mexicans my family is very strict. They don’t let their children have relationships for a long time. Although they are strict they give you a lot of freedom and don’t put you down as a child.
My dad’s side of the family is hardly religious at all except for my grandfather. He volunteers at his church and preaches sometimes at his church. All of my family’s values can be seen in my grandfather. He is the most loving and giving man in the world.
What he does demonstrates what the Fowler name represents. My dad’s family leaves nobody behind and will lend a helping hand to anybody no matter how ugly you are, and you know who you are, ugly.
Both of my families are more different then similar but they both have something in common that all families across the world have in common and that is values. Every family fight, every family argues and every family hate each other at times but they all will love each other till death.

Life As A Richard Merkin Middle School Student
Life as a RMMS Student
Richard Merkin Middle School is a charter school that is located in Los Angeles. It is very different from other from other schools but at the same time it is also very similar to other schools. Every school no matter where it is located has the same type of students. Every school has students who thrive for an education as well as the student who have to be forced out of bed and forced to go to school. From the athletes to the geeks, they are all the same from both sides of the street.
Although Richard Merkin Middle school is similar to other school it is much more different from other school. RMMS better technology than most schools.
RMMS has the latest version of flat screen Apple Mac computers. The computers have wireless Internet, Garage Band, Photo Booth, Grapher, Microsoft Excel, Firefox and Safari Internet, and Power Point. Most other schools have the computers with the “Big Booties”. The teachers at RMMS have personal Laptops the school gives them.
RMMS does its best to give its student the proper education that is needed for them to graduated from Middle school and be properly prepared for high school and eventually college. RMMS has only six classes per grade and only six teachers per grade. All of the 8th grade students have the same teachers, all the 7th grade students have the same teacher, and all the 6th grade students have the same teachers.
RMMS has a smaller amount of students, which makes it easier to learn. A smaller class means individual attention and with individual attention brings better understanding and more success. RMMS has only about 150 stub=dents in each grade which is way less than what the average school has.
RMMS is different then other school but all of the students have the same thing in mind, learning.

Stuff About Montez

Hello, my name is Montez Eugiene Fowler. I have very weird hair. My friend Luis calls me “one lock”, I adopted my fathers childhood nickname “Monteca” like Manteca which means lard or butter in Spanish, and my mom has called me “pig” since I was a baby. I have been playing the guitar for four years and the piano for about 3 years. I love to play very heavy genres on the guitar like Metal and softer genres like Alternative. My favorite bands are As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Metallica, The Doors, Slayer, Megadeth, and Sublime. My hero on the guitar is Eric Johnson. I skate every day and everywhere except at the Magic Johnson theater because the security guard takes his job way to seriously. My heroes for skating are Rodney Mullen and Mike Vallely. P.S. I love fire.
